Weapons of Mass Destruction
I hope to bring viewers to realize the correspondence that exits between all acts of violence, and my varying series are testament to the universal impact and shared responsibility of war. In this, my work seeks to place doubt on the rigid labels imposed — “weapons of mass destruction,” “civilian,” “combatant” — questioning the ideology from which they have emerged. My series of drawings focusing on Weapons of Mass Destruction complicates the labeling of these arms. Depicting weapons used by the United States, these works question the terms imposed by our nation in its categorization. Recent studies in gunpowder wash focus on the operation of U.S. drones.
